INSTANT MAKE UP UPDATES

If you've always played safe and focused on eyes or lips but never both, it's time to break the either/or rule. Strong brows are the perfect complement to this season's hot red lips, so first, make naturally shaped brows beefier. "Fill any gaps with feathery strokes of a colour-matched pencil," says Attracta Courtney, who created the looks on these pages. "Then comb them upwards so they seem bushier, and hold the shape with a clear brow gel."
Keep eye make-up soft with a single shimmer-free shadow or two haphazardly smudged together for a water-colour effect. "The trick isn't in expert blending but using velvet textures that are barely there in the first place", says Attracta. "The bonus is that eyes look instantly bigger, as you're not sure where they begin or end."
This 1930s bombshell mouth might look fiddly but today's lipsticks are just as easy to apply as your perennial favourite balm. After an era of gloss, matte lips are having their moment. "Reds with a hint of orange are most on-trend," advises Attracta. "Anything too pink-based or super-shiny harks back to the 1980s."
